Seminar resources from the June 2011 Civil War trip
Our Special Guest lecturer, Dr. G. Michael Pratt presented on battlefield archaeology and the interpretation of archaeological evidence. Please review the reports and extended abstract on two battlefields explored by the methods Dr. Pratt will discuss at Gettysburg. Both comparatively short. The first is the 1995 report on the initial archaeological survey of the August 1794 Fallen Timbers Battlefield, Maumee Ohio. The survey and data mapping methods we used became common on battlefields. The second report is a summary of his work at Buffington Island Civil War Battlefield. Portland, Ohio July 1863.
