Methodological and Assessment Specialist

Howard Epstein, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at Miami Hamilton. He received a master’s degree from The Ohio State University in 1971 and a Ph.D. in Developmental and Educational Psychology in 1975 Ohio State. Dr. Epstein teaches courses in the areas of Educational Measurement, Educational Psychology, and Special Education at Miami Hamilton.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Holds a Ph.D. in educational psychology and, as such, is an expert in strategies of teaching, implementation of those strategies, and assessment of results of those strategies
  • Along with Program Director (Ms. Fuerbacher), helps discern teachers' needs and devises strategies for effective implementation of content-based material
  • Devises means for assessment of results of implementation of strategies among teachers and in the classroom
  • Oversees the form of the construction of curricular units
  • Works with curricular specialist to improve proficiency and standardized test scores
  • Consults with independent evaluators on progress of program and possible improvements.
