In 2005, a one-hour credit course
was developed as a complement to the Racial
Legacies series. In the course, In American
& World Cultures: Readings in Racial Legacies
(IDS 153) students discuss the social construction
of race in America, its complexities in our
society and its lasting impact on our political,
judicial, educational and other social structures.
In addition, through self-introspection, students
also examine how we, as products of our society,
contribute to the enduring legacies of race.
