Major: Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs
Year: 2011
About Me: I was born and raised where the Bluegrass meets the Appalachian Mountains in beautiful Berea, Kentucky. After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the US Air Force. While in the Air Force, I was stationed at Lackland AFB, Texas; Keesler AFB, Mississippi (twice); Holloman AFB/White Sands Missle Range, New Mexico; and a remote radar installation in the northeastern United States.
After separating from active duty I enlisted for a period of 6 years in the Ohio Air National Guard. I've traveled to Europe, Asia and Mexico and plan on traveling to Egypt as part of a study abroad program for Arabic. I work at the reception desk for the offices of Advising and Learning Assistance Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. I am also the Volunteer Program Coordinator for the Student Activities office on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
My Advice for you is: Don't procrastinate! Don't hesitate to use the resources your tuition and fees have already paid for! When you feel drowned by assignments (about every 4 weeks) organize the tasks you need to complete and get them done in order of importance. If you do these things, you should be able to avoid the kind of problems that can spin out of control very quickly. |
