Set Construction
-
When cutting materials, the large
door from the workshop to the stage must be closed.
This stops sawdust from traveling into the
auditorium and curtains. Sawdust must be
removed each night and thoroughly removed on strike
day. There will be no cutting of materials
on the stage itself.
-
A stage base must be used when constructing
a set. A builder's type of plastic must
cover the stage. Plywood or fiberboard is
required for base construction. When anchoring
the base, nails must be driven straight in (no
toenailing). Nails must be no larger than
1 1/2 inches.
-
When using a stage base, a 1" kick
guard must be attached to the front of the base
spanning the entire stage width. This kick
guard should be attached to the stage base and
in no way should it be attached to the existing
kick guard/front molding strip. This will
prevent sets, ladders, etc., from rolling off
the stage.
