ESL Programs at Miami Hamilton
We offer a variety of programs for students and community members who do not speak English as their first language.

We meet two (2) times a week for 8 weeks from 7-8:30 pm on the Hamilton campus.
• Non-credit beginning and low intermediate classes
• Students must be over 18 to participate
• No enrollment in university is necessary. We are here to support you!
Is Not:
• A punishment
• Different from other 007s (except it’s taught by an ESOL instructor)
• An easy, survival class for new immigrants
• Looked down upon by other students or instructors
Is Not:
• For students who want someone to write their papers for them
• A study period
Do you speak another language at home?
Are you nervous about speaking up in class?
Do you want some help with pronunciation?
Are you looking for a relaxed place to get more comfortable speaking English?
If so, please join us for a Casual Conversation Circle
4 sessions for 1 hour each
No RSVP necessary. Get the facts from the flyers and just show up!
Is:
• For native Spanish speakers studying English and native English speakers studying Spanish
• 1 time each week for 6 weeks
• 1-1.5 hours each week
• Overseen by an ESL Specialist and a Spanish professor
• To help with spoken fluency
• Orientation is provided
• For practice, not instruction
Is Not:
• A teaching or tutoring session
• For credit
• A dating service!
