Team Miami U. Hamilton walks for heart research
September 16, 2009
On Saturday, September 12, Team Captain Terri Blair led the Team Miami U. Hamilton Walkers on the Hamilton/Fairfield 2009 American Heart Association Walk. In addition to Blair, team members included Mary Bennett, Roscoe Wilson, Cassie Wilson, and Amanda Hugenberg.
Some team members biked, some walked, some jogged, but all enjoyed a beautiful event along the Great Miami River while raising funds for heart disease and stroke research.
Blair and Bennett were accompanied on their 3 mile walk by celebrity starter Coach Charlie Coles of Miami University. As the celebrity starter for the event, Coach Coles shared his story about living with heart disease and surviving a near fatal heart attack, and gave his heartfelt thanks to those in the medical community who care for heart attack and stroke victims, as well as to those who are raising funds to help conquer heart disease.
Team Miami U. Hamilton raised $435 for this worthy cause. Way to go TEAM!
