Harriers fall to rival Miami Middletown in the final second

The men's squad took the Thunderhawks down to the wire, but a made basket with 1.1 seconds left put Miami Middletown up for good. The Harriers were led by Vince Cook's 25 points. Check out photos of the game on the Journal News website.

Miami Hamilton will finish up their season Saturday at 1pm at OSU Newark before getting ready for the ORC Tournament the following weekend.

Harriers pull out another conference win

The Miami Hamilton men's basketball team picked up another big conference win Saturday afternoon as they hosted OU Lancaster. The squad took the lead early and never gave it up, eventually winning by 18 points, 87-69. The Harriers were led by Marcus Calhoun with 16 points and Vince Cook with 15 points

Harriers pull out a BIG conference win

The Miami Hamilton men's basketball team picked up a big conference win Wednesday night as they hosted UC Clermont. The squad battled to take the game into overtime where they finally pulled out the 76-73 victory.

The Harriers were led by Vince Cook with 16 points and Kendell Cunningham chipped in 11.

The Harriers will host OU Lancaster this Saturday for a 3pm matchup and return the following Wednesday for a 7:30pm game against Southern State Community College in the BOX THAT ROCKS.


Cook, Alexander lead potent Harrier attack

The Harrier men’s basketball team continues to ride a hot streak in 2009 after picking up two big wins over the weekend.

Miami Hamilton defeated OSU-Newark 85-71 on Friday night in the Box that Rocks, following that up with a 76-69 overtime win on the road Saturday at OU-Chillicothe.

Vince Cook and Shawn Alexander each scored 20 points against OSU-Newark, which came to town armed with a 15-1 record. Cook poured in another 28 points Saturday to lead the Harriers’ offensive attack in that conference game.

The team continues to play well offensively and defensively under first-year head coach Mel Levitt, the former University of Cincinnati standout.

The Harriers next home game is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 21. Grab a seat in the bleachers and support the home team


Harrier men down OSU-Lima in conference hoops contest

Miami Hamilton’s men’s basketball team vows to make 2009 the Year of the Harrier. The team traveled to OSU-Lima for their first game of the new year and returned home with a big road victory. Led by newcomer Vincent Cook’s 25 points and Marcus Calhoun’s 20 points, the Harrier men down the Barons 77-57. Check out the new-look Harriers as they ring in the new year at 7:30 p.m. Friday against OSU-Newark in the Box that Rocks.
