June 4, 2009

Dr. David Russell, a lecturer in the Zoology Department in Oxford and Dr. Jill Russell, a faculty member in biology at the College of Mt. St. Joseph recently visited the Miami Hamilton campus to band the baby tree swallows hatched in the three bird houses located in the prairie.

The Russells are the founders of the Avian Research and Education Institute www.avianinstitute.com. Both are licensed bird banders and are well-known birders. They will be back on Miami Hamilton’s campus the 5th and 8th of June to band the other baby tree swallows.
