MUH to host state baseball tournament this weekend
May 13, 2009
After winning the ORCC regular season title and advancing to the state tournament semifinals last weekend, the Harrier baseball team will compete for the state crown on their home field this weekend.
Joe Sullivan blasted three home runs and Brian Fusco also went yard as Zane Bayliss notched the win on the mound in a 17-2 win over Miami Middletown in the state tournament quarterfinals May 9.
In the double-elimination state tournament, the Harriers will play OSU-Mansfield at 1 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Foundation Field, in the winner’s bracket finals. OU-Lancaster meets Miami Middletown at 3 p.m. in the loser’s bracket semifinals. The loser’s bracket finals will be played at 5 p.m., pitting the loser of the 1 p.m. game against the winner of the 3 p.m. game.
The championship game is slated for 1 p.m. (and 3 p.m., if necessary) on Saturday, May 16.
Coach Grissom and the Harrier baseball team are hoping for a good crowd this weekend at Foundation Field, so come on out and show your support!
