Miami Hamilton's mock election 2008 results

November 4, 2008

Coordinator of Student Activities, Jen Moning, announced the results from November 3's Mock Election. 

Total number of participants:  74

For President:
Barack Obama / Joe Biden – 55.6%
John McCain / Sarah Palin – 37.5%
Chuck Baldwin / Darrell L. Castle – 2.8%
Bob Barr / Wayne Allen Root – 2.8%
Ralph Nader / Matt Gonzalez – 1.4%

Statewide Ohio Issues - ISSUE 1 (Proposed amendment to provide for earlier filing deadlines for statewide ballot issues)
YES – 81.2%
NO – 18.8%

Statewide Ohio Issues - ISSUE 2 (Proposed amendment to authorize the state to issue bonds to continue the Clean Ohio program for environmental revitalization and conservation)
YES – 75%
NO – 25%

Statewide Ohio Issues - ISSUE 3 (Proposed amendment to protect private property rights in ground water, lakes and other watercourses)
YES – 70.1%
NO – 29.9%

[Statewide Ohio Issue 4 was not on the Ohio ballot]

Statewide Ohio Issues - ISSUE 5 (Referendum on legislation making changes to check cashing lending, sometimes known as “payday lending,” fees, interest rates and practices)
YES – 63.4%

Statewide Ohio Issues - ISSUE 6 (Proposed amendment for a casino near Wilmington in Southwest Ohio and distribute to all Ohio counties a tax on the casino)
