March 26 Café Music Series features Christy Jefferson

March 20, 2008

Miami Hamilton’s Office of the Campus Dean and Student Activities presents singer/songwriter Christy Jefferson from noon-1pm on March 26th in Schwarm Commons. (Note: Date is different from some advertisements.)

Jefferson’s music is an eclectic combination of folk, cabaret, rock, and pop—brought to you via piano and guitar and delivered with a delicious voice in solo, duo, and full band format.  Her story is a well-rounded one—complete with an early start in music, many brushes with fame, a few bouts of tragedy, and through it all; success.

Jefferson recently signed with Neon Entertainment and, on September 21, 2007, released her 5th record entitled Living Curiously, which was produced by Richard Blakin (Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon), and Jason Rubal (Dresden Dolls, Showin' Tell, etc.).

One song on the album,  'Java Jacket' was chosen among 110,000 entrants in a contest and was awarded a spot on Music for Coffee Beings—a compilation CD that is being distributed in Canada, sealing Jefferson’s status as an international artist. Jefferson is currently working on her next album (projected release in 2008 / 2009) with superstar producer Shelly Yakus (U2, John Lennon, Stevie Nix, Tom Petty) and her band, the Core 4.
