Distinguished Chinese scholars to speak at Miami Oxford campus, Miami Hamilton Downtown

Miami University's regional campuses, the Confucius Institute, and the department of political science have joined to bring two distinguished Chinese speakers to two venues in Butler County on October 13, 2008.
The first lecture will take place in Laws Hall, 113, on the Oxford campus from 2:30-4:00 PM. The presenter will be Dr. Liu Wenjing, who will talk on the topic of Freedom of Information in Contemporary China.
The second lecture will take place at Miami Hamilton's Downtown location, 221 High St., from 7:00-8:30 PM. Dr. Li Zhiping from Sun Yat-Sen University, China, will present on the topic of Protection of Peasants' Environmental Rights and Environmental Justice.
Each presentation will be followed by a panel discussion led by one of the distinguished Chinese speakers and comprising area political science scholars, Drs. Gus Jones, Daniel E. Hall, John Feldmeier, and Martha Good.
