Student government elections in progress

April 22, 2008

The election process is in full swing for next year’s Student Government Association (SGA) president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and four senators who will represent the student body at Miami Hamilton during the 2008-09 academic year. The deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m. Friday, April 25.

SGA applications are available in the Office of Student Services, 130 Rentschler Hall, as well as SGA display racks located in Mosler and Schwarm halls.

The SGA is an organization of elected students who represent the student body to both the campus community and general public. SGA representatives are actively involved in enhancing the quality of student life at Miami Hamilton, working closely with campus administrators, faculty and staff and providing input that may influence administrative decisions which directly affect students.

SGA members address student concerns, serve on university committees and task forces, and act as liaisons between students and faculty. They are voting members of the Hamilton Campus Senate and the Miami University Senate in Oxford.

For more information, go to www.ham.muohio.edu/sga/membership_info.htm, or contact Dr. Bob Rusbosin, Associate Dean and Director of Student Services, 202-B Mosler Hall, 785-3128.
