This fall a new student group can be found buzzing around campus: the Peer Associates of Miami Hamilton.
Peer Associates is a group of students working together to perform an array of volunteer and leadership activities on campus and in local neighborhoods.

Some of the 2007 peer associates with supervisors Annie Miller (third from right) and Marcia Bimmel (far right).
The group works in Rentschler and Schwarm halls concentrating on four aspects of civic engagement: service learning, activities, leadership, and new student programs. These students spend their time brainstorming fun activities that encourage students to become more involved in campus life at Miami Hamilton, such as the popular Café Music Series and Free Movie Thursdays.
Members of Peer Associates want to encourage their fellow students to become leaders by attending iLead workshops, which are aimed at teaching students how to become leaders in their communities under any circumstance.
Peer Associates aid Learning Assistance programs on campus by helping connect students with tutors in various academic subjects. Miami Hamilton students in need of a tutor, of interested in becoming one, are encouraged to stop by the Office of Student Services, 130 Rentschler Hall.
The new student organization also is planning a study skills workshop before exams, to help students learn techniques for effective studying including relaxation tips.
Miami Hamilton students interested in joining Peer Associates, or learning about future events the group will be hosting, should contact Annie Miller, Coordinator of Student Activities and Peer Associates Supervisor, mille152@muohio.edu.
