HawkWalk 2007 a healthy success on the Hamilton campus

May 10, 2007

Several members of the Miami Hamilton family recently participated in a university wide wellness program called, HawkWalk.

HawkWalkers met every Friday for six weeks to explore ways to enhance their well being, mentally, physically, spiritually and socially, by taking part in several different activities.

Stretching was the focus of the first meeting followed by a much more energetic hip-hop class.  Week three introduced participants to Tai Chi, taught by a martial arts expert, while in week four, HawkWalkers enjoyed a beautiful afternoon walking the campus trails.

Drs. Dick Munson and Dan Gladish discussed how plants and trees were affected by the winter/spring weather as they led the group on a nature walk around campus in week five.  And, in the final week, the group discussed Mitch Albom’s best selling book, “the five people you meet in heaven”.
