Friedenberg to talk about political campaign communication
March 16, 2007
Miami University’s Dr. Robert Friedenberg, professor of communications, will discuss The Evolution of American Political Campaign Communication at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, in the Harry T. Wilks Conference Center.
A nationally-renowned scholar of the U.S. presidency, Friedenberg has long been recognized as the nation’s leading expert on political campaign communication. He will discuss critical moments in American political communication and share his insights as the next installment of the popular Michael J. Colligan History Project Lecture Series.
Author of numerous books, Friedenberg will delve into how campaign communication has evolved over the years and grown steadily in importance since the memorable Kennedy-Nixon debates of 1960, when many precedents were set.
“Given the early and nearly fever-pitch buildup to the 2008 presidential contest, his talk is certain to be both timely and instructive,” said Dr. Michael Carrafiello, Miami Hamilton Assistant Dean and director of the Michael J. Colligan History Project.
The event is free and open to the public.
