Campus continues to support Shared Harvest Food Bank
November 30, 2006
Miami Hamilton students, faculty and staff are encouraged to donate to the Shared Harvest Food Bank of Fairfield, which supplies food to a number of agencies in Butler County throughout the year.
“While the holidays are especially important, unfortunately there are always people in need of food at any time of the year,” said math professor Dave Sobecki, who coordinates the effort for the campus at the end of each semester.
Shared Harvest accepts non-perishable food items and monetary donations (monetary donations are tax deductible).
“Rest assured that every morsel you donate will end up on the table of someone who really needs your help this holiday season,” Sobecki said.
Donations can be brought to Sobecki’s office in 526 Mosler Hall, or dropped off at the switchboard for pickup.
Last May, the campus donated 1,751 pounds of food and $100 to Hamilton’s Open Door Pantry.
Sobecki will box and deliver the goods the week after final exams, he said.
