October 12, 2006

Mr. Jimmie Jones and Dr. Shelly Bromberg have been recognized by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) for their work in the community.

The annual award is bestowed on those people who make outstanding contributions to the community in the pursuit of equality and justice.

Jones was recognized for working with local student groups and the community at large on education initiatives pertaining to race relations. Jones also is director of the campus Racial Legacies and Learning program working in conjunction with the City of Hamilton Department of Human Relations.
