Math professor counts on food donations
April 24, 2006
Miami University Hamilton Professor of Math, Dave Sobecki counts on bags and boxes full of food donations each spring. Contributions from the professor's food drive are donated to the Open Door Pantry in Hamilton.
"I can't emphasize enough how important our contributions are to the folks at Open Door at this time of year," he said. "The amount of food and money that I collect at the end of spring semester is always a lot less than around Christmas time-isn't that kind of sad? People that are hungry need to eat year-round, not just when everyone is filled with holiday cheer."
To donate, bring non-perishable food items to his office, Room 526 Mosler, or leave them at the switchboard located on the first floor of Mosler. Monetary donations are also accepted.
