Miami Hamilton announces faculty, staff appointments

Dr. Daniel E. Hall, Miami University Hamilton Campus Dean, today announced the following appointments to faculty and staff positions at the regional campus.

Dr. Michael Carrafiello Dr. Michael Carrafiello, Associate Professor and Director of the Michael J. Colligan History Project, has been named Assistant Dean. In this capacity, Carrafiello will lead all new academic initiatives including new program development, and assume responsibility for evening and weekend degree programs. He will retain some of his current duties, including his work with the Colligan History Project and the Teaching American History Grant Program. Carrafiello earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Rollins College, and his Master of Arts and Doctorate degrees from Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Paulette Worcester Dr. Paulette Worcester has been named Chair of the Department of Nursing with responsibility for associate degree and baccalaureate nursing programs at both regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown. Previously she was interim department Chair. Worcester earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from DePauw University, a Master of Arts degree in Nursing from Ball State University, and a Doctorate in Nursing Science from Indiana University.
Dr. A.O. Abatan Dr. Ayodele Abatan has been named Chair of the Engineering Technology Department. Abatan most recently was Professor of Civil Engineering and Director of the Laboratory for Intelligent Material Systems, Department of Engineering, at Clark Atlanta University in Georgia. Abatan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, a
Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois, and a Doctorate in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
Perry Richardson Perry Richardson also joins the Miami team as Campus Communications Officer responsible for internal and external communications. Richardson was a public affairs specialist for Fluor Corp. and Westinghouse Electric Co. at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fernald Closure Project. A former newspaper reporter and editor, Richardson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Anderson University.
