OWLS provide free screening
of new
Walmart documentary
November
10, 2005
Several upcoming events sponsored
by Miami University Hamilton student organizations
include a free screening of the new documentary "Walmart:
The High Cost of Low Price."
On Tuesday,
Nov. 15, the Organization for World Wide Learners
will provide a free screening of the documentary beginning
at 11:15am in Room 200 Mosler.
Movie reviewer
Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times writes,
"'Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price' is an
engrossing, muckraking documentary about the retail
giant that's been called "the world's largest,
richest and probably meanest corporation." But
if you're expecting an angry diatribe, you're going
to be disappointed. Instead, the predominant feeling
coming off the screen in the latest film from director
Robert Greenwald is a kind of baffled disenchantment
and sadness."
The documentary is produced and directed by Robert
Greenwald and Brave New Films.
