It’s all about Student Success

If you’re a new student entering Miami Hamilton this fall, help ease your jitters by attending a special Student Success Day session August 19.

Special guest speaker Jonathan Sprinkles, nominated as the College Speaker of the Year for 2004 and 2005, will bring his high-energy presentation “DiversiME University” to campus.

In addition to Sprinkles, faculty and staff will be on hand to encourage students to begin thinking about what it means to experience education in a college classroom. One of the more popular sessions, faculty members explain their classroom expectations and weave through the jungle of higher education terminology.

A highlight of the session is the student panel, a program that features current students who describe the things they know now that they wish they would have known as freshmen.

Incoming students are encouraged to bring their parent(s) or partner. Concurrent sessions for them will provide valuable information on financial aid, academic expectations, along with a campus tour.

Student Success Day is for new and transfer students, their parents and or their partner. For additional information or to sign up, contact 785-3211. Students may sign up for one of two sessions, either 9:00am to 11:30am or 2:00pm to 4:30 pm.
