Sandra Vogel Receives Women Breaking
Barriers Award

Sandra Vogel, part-time communications instructor
for Miami Hamilton, received the Women Breaking Barriers
Award from Miami University.
Nominated by one of her students, Vogel received
the faculty award for “serving as a positive
role model for women by helping them reach their full
potential and career goals.”
According to the award committee, “Sandra empowers
women to be confident and articulate; she encourages
women to stand up and be heard. She works tirelessly
to integrate female leaders into the University environment
through significant networking opportunities. For
her commitment to Miami women and women everywhere,
Sandra Vogel is truly a woman breaking barriers.”
Vogel also is executive managing director for eWomenNetwork
Cincinnati. The Women Breaking Barriers Award is bestowed
to those who have been distinguished by their respective
communities as outstanding advocates of equality and
models of leadership. The recipients of this honor
are characterized by their achievements of perseverance
and courage. Through their personal and professional
commitments, these women have challenged societal
norms expectations and the limitations of gender roles.
