Have you ever thought about studying abroad?

January 18, 2005

If attending college in a foreign country is a dream you thought completely out of reach, then you haven’t heard about Miami University’s Luxembourg Program and the opportunity for you to “immerse yourself in Europe’s diversity.”

Applications are now being accepted and there are scholarships available. The deadline to submit is January 24. Cordelia Stroinigg, coordinator of the Dolibois European Center and the Luxembourg Program encourages all Miami students to apply. “The study abroad program fulfills all University requirements and pertains to all majors. This includes students on the Hamilton and Middletown campuses,” she added. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $3,500.

To apply, students simply fill out the application forms to attend and file a FAFSA by Feb. 15th of the year before they wish to study in Luxembourg. The Office of Student Financial Aid automatically forwards financial information for all accepted students to the office. Applications can be found on the Web site: www.units.muohio.edu/luxembourg

According to Luxembourg Executive Director Ekkehard Stiller, Ph.D., “While in Luxembourg, you will experience a challenging, relevant and European-focused curriculum taught by distinguished European and American faculty, offers an exciting learning experience and gives our program its excellent academic reputation. Our host family program provides our students with the unique opportunity to observe European family life and become part of it. Life-long friendships between host families and students are testimony to its success. Center-sponsored and independent weekend travels enable our students to explore Europe, to reinforce formal classroom learning and to observe, experience, and feel comfortable in Europe’s various cultural settings.”
