It's a record! Students, staff and faculty
at Miami Hamilton donated 1,675 pounds of food
and $242 in cash to the Shared Harvest Food
Bank in Fairfield before winter break.
According to Dave Sobecki, Math, this beat
the 946 pounds collected in the spring, which
was given to the Open Door Food Pantry in Hamilton.
In addition, two used cell phones were also
donated and given to a local battered women’s
shelter.
“I’m very proud and grateful,”
Sobecki said. “If you’ve been paying
attention to the local news this season, you
know that food banks in the area have been struggling
to keep up with demand. Our contributions were
greatly appreciated.”
