The Campus Kids program of Miami University
Hamilton has earned accreditation from the National
Association for the Education of Young Children, the
nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals.
According to Jacqueline Leader, director of Campus
Kids, this is the highest form of recognition given
to early childhood programs. "We are very excited
to be recognized for our commitment to reaching these
high professional standards," she added. "Having
this accreditation reaffirms that the children in
our program are getting the best care and outstanding
early learning experiences."
Campus Kids provides a safe and wholesome setting
for children of Miami Hamilton students, faculty and
staff who need child care for extended or short periods
of time. Its extensive educational curriculum honors
the child as unique. Campus Kids provides developmentally
appropriate activities which allow children to practice
and master skills in the cognitive, physical, social,
and emotional domains in a positive environment.
Miami Hamilton Executive Director Daniel Hall commends
the program for providing an outstanding service to
students, faculty, and staff. "For many students,
especially our non-traditional students, the difficulty
in finding quality child care is an obstruction to
reaching their educational goals. Campus Kids not
only allows them to attend college, but it provides
their children with a safe, educational, and caring
experience."
Currently, Campus Kids serves children ages 18 months
to 6 years old. The center has two classrooms: a toddler
classroom serving ages 18 months to 36 months, and
a preschool classroom serving 3 years to 6 years old.
