Visiting scholar addresses challenges
of AIDS education

Scholar Mary Jean Baxen will present "Teacher
Identity and the Challenges of Teaching about Sexuality
and HIV/AIDS: A South African Perspective," Monday,
Nov.14, beginning at 8pm in Room 200 of the Harry
T. Wilks Conference Center.
In addition, she will present Tuesday, Nov. 15, from
10am to 11:15am in Room 200 of the conference center
on the topic "HIV/AIDS and Educational Contexts:
Beyond the Content to Understanding the Context."
Baxen is senior lecturer in the School of Education
at the University of Cape Town. She also is visiting
scholar at Kent State University. The program is sponsored
by the Office of Multicultural Services, Student Services,
Black World Studies, and Anthropology.
