New Play Festival Showcases Community and Student Playwrights

April 5, 2004

Miami University Hamilton Theatre presents an evening of original works by Miami students and local playwrights April 15, 16 and 17 with all shows beginning at 7:30pm in Parrish Auditorium.

Miami Writes: New Play Festival features 10 original works as well as Cincinnati dancers Heather Britt and Ron Houck who will perform to choreography created by renowned Cincinnati-based artist Diane Germaine. Carlos Baxley and Melanie S. Rogers of the African American Theatre Company also will perform.

Performing are Jana Fiehrer, Erika Fulton, Alyta Kivisels, Chris Bennett Klefeker, Melanie S. Rogers, Erin Stidham, Lesley Williams, Lindsay Wilson, Carlos Baxley, Brandon Berning, Avik Subedi, and Mike Ulanski.

Miami Writes: New Play Festival will be held in Parrish Auditorium beginning at 7:30pm. General admission is $6, $3 for students, seniors and children 12 and under.

"We are so pleased and honored to present these new works," Director Bekka Eaton said. "This production of Miami Writes: New Play Festival is the first of many presentations of original student and local playwrights' works."
