opens history project lecture series

Colligan Project Distinguished scholar and Miami
University professor, Jeffrey Kimball, discusses the
myths and mysteries surrounding the final phase of
the Vietnam War, kicking off the first lecture of
the 2004-05 Michael J. Colligan History Project Lecture
Series, "History's Scandals and Mysteries."
The lecture is Free and Open to the public and begins
at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, in the Harry
T. Wilks Conference Center on the campus of Miami
Hamilton, 1601 University Boulevard.
Kimball has taught history courses on diplomacy,
peace, war, imperialism, popular culture, the United
States, and Western civilization at Miami University
since 1968. His books include To Reason Why: The Debate
About the Causes of American Involvement in the Vietnam
War; Nixon's Vietnam War, and The Vietnam War Files:
Uncovering the Secret History of Nixon-Era Strategy.
Kimball's research has taken him to Vietnam and Europe,
as well as throughout the United States and Canada.
H served as the Senior Research Fellow at the Norwegian
Nobel Institute and Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow
Wilson International Center for Scholars.
The Michael J. Colligan History Project is a joint
undertaking of the Colligan Fund Committee of the
Hamilton Community Foundation and the Hamilton Campus
of Miami University. It is made possible by the generous
bequest of Michael J. Colligan, a prominent local
businessman and amateur historian.
