Kids in College explores everything
from computer programming to science

Do you have children who constantly ask a million
questions about everything? Get some of their questions
answered by enrolling them in a Kids in College summer
enrichment class offered through Miami University
Hamilton's Continuing Education program.
Experienced teachers will explore numerous subjects
such as science, language, theater, child care, meteorology
and computer programming. Students in grades 1 through
8 are eligible to enroll. Courses will be taught Monday
through Friday from 9am to noon during the week of
June 21 through June 25.
Children in grades 1 and 2 can learn about plants
in A Seed Is a Promise or how to make huge
bubbles in "Fun"tastic Science.
Children in grades 1, 2 and 3 can Say Olé
to Spanish.
If your child is in grade 3 or grade 4, sign up for
Graphics! Graphics! Graphics!, a computer
course where students produce their own candy wrapper.
Do you have a budding actor in your household? Act
Well Your Part is a theater technique course
for students in grades 4, 5 and 6.
If you still want more computers and your children
are in grades 5 and 6, then sign them up for Feel
the Power and take PowerPoint to a new level.
If math is more their speed, let them flex their mental
muscles in Math Olympics. And students in
grade 7 or 8 can learn the Exciting World of LOGO
Turtles and actually write their own computer
program. Or, they can learn Web Site Design through
the use of the Dreamweaver design program.
New this year, is Become a Better Babysitter.
This course is for children ages 10 to 13 and includes
first-aid and CPR training. Also new this year is
a one-day workshop about meteorology. On Saturday,
June 19, get ready for What's Up With the Weather?
Students in grades 7 and 8 will learn how weather
forecasts are made.
