Miami Regional Campuses Offering
In-State Tuition To Indiana Neighbors
July 22, 2004
Miami University's Hamilton and Middletown regional
campuses have joined with other Ohio institutions
in offering in-state tuition rates to Indiana residents
who live along the Indiana-Ohio border.
The tuition reciprocity arrangement was coordinated
between the Ohio Board of Regents and the Indiana
Commission on Higher Education. Other area institutions
joining with Miami Hamilton and Miami Middletown in
this program include Clark State Community College,
Sinclair Community College and Wright State University
at both its Dayton and Lake Campuses.
In-state tuition is being made available to Indiana
residents who live in Adams, Blackford, Delaware,
Fayette, Franklin, Henry, Jay, Randolph, Rush, Union,
Wayne and Wells counties.
The goal of the tuition reciprocity agreement, according
to the Ohio Board of Regents, is "to increase
availability of programs to residents of Western Ohio
and Eastern Indiana without needless duplication of
educational effort and to promote efficient use of
existing educational facilities and resources."
Miami's regional campuses, eligible Indiana students
must register as regional campus students, and be
taking courses offered at or through the regional
campuses. The tuition reciprocity agreement does not
include Oxford campus students or Oxford courses.
Some Indiana students now take classes on both regional
campuses, while others enroll for courses offered
by Miami's regional campuses in Eaton.
This fall Miami's regional campuses will begin their
tenth year of offering courses in Eaton.
