Command Spanish® Seminar
explains how workplace communication can improve
April 8, 2004
Business professionals are invited to a free seminar
to learn how Miami University Hamilton and Middletown’s
Command Spanish® team can promote better communication
in the workplace.
The seminar will be held Thursday, April 29, from
5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Harry T. Wilks Conference
Center at Miami University Hamilton. A three-course
buffet dinner will be served. To register, call 513/785-3131.
Command Spanish® is the leading provider of occupational
Spanish language materials and workshops for the professions.
The program uses learner-friendly language materials
and workshops that require no prior knowledge of Spanish.
It eliminates grammar instruction found in most other
language programs. It also provides a full range of
cross-cultural training designed to eliminate cultural
misunderstandings. Simply stated, it is “Real
Spanish for Real People.”
According to Jill Gauthier, program coordinator and
instructor, with Command Spanish® “you can
increase safety in the workplace, enhance worker’s
job performance, decrease or remove communication
barriers and provide better service to persons in
the Hispanic community.”
During the seminar, participants will be introduced
to Spanish pronunciation, learn a few words in Spanish
and become familiar with some of the most common cultural
differences between Latinos and non-Latinos.
Heather Schuster, a registered nurse at the Butler
County Community Health Center, said, “Command
Spanish was wonderful. It was quick and easy to learn.
Staff people were able to do some basic communication
after a few short weeks of class. I would strongly
recommend it to anyone needing workplace Spanish.”
