Celtic music to fill Parrish Auditorium

A slight change in the Artist Series line up for October is an exciting one as Miami Hamilton welcomes Kevin Burke and Ged Foley of Patrick Street and Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill on October 23 at 8:00 p.m. in Parrish Auditorium.

The addition of Hayes and Cahill will enhance an evening already promising to be one filled with outstanding Celtic music. Irish fiddle virtuoso Hayes and American guitarist Cahill are celebrated for taking traditional Irish music to the edge of the genre and opening its doors to the world beyond.

Also in October, Trio Globo appears Saturday, October 2, at 8:00 p.m. for an evening of contemporary acoustic jazz. Rani Arbo and Daisy Mayhem join the group as special guests. Rounding out the month of October is a concert featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Sunday, October 24, beginning at 7:30 p.m. This renowned South African a cappella group creates a musical and spiritual alchemy that has touched a worldwide audience representing every corner of the religious, cultural and ethnic landscape.
