How
to Access Electronic Reserves
You can access electronic
reserves anytime from the University
Libraries' site by clicking the "RESERVES" link at
the top of the page.
Note: You may need a password
in order to view electronic reserve documents. Please obtain the password
from your instructor.
For Direct Access to Current Electronic Reserves:
- Go to University Libraries'
site at http://www.lib.muohio.edu
- Click the "RESERVES"
link at the top of the page.
- Use one of the three
drop-down boxes to access reserve readings by Department, Professor,
or Course.

- Select a department,
professor, or course, and click the "Go" button located
next to your selection.
- Click on your course
name and number. (If you do not see these options, continue.)
- Click on the title of
the item you wish to view.
- If requested to enter
a password, type in the password provided by your professor.
- Upon clicking on a title,
your web browser will launch Adobe Acrobat Reader***.
(If asked to Open this file or Save it to disk, select Open.)
- If the instructor has
placed non-electronic materials on reserve, you can see a list of
titles by clicking on "Non-electronic Reserve Items" at
the bottom of the page. These items can be checked out at the circulation
desk at the library listed to the right of the item title.
For Access By Course Name or Instructor Name:
- Go to University Libraries'
site at http://www.lib.muohio.edu
- Click the "RESERVES"
link at the top of the page.
- Click on either link,
"Course Name"
or "Instructor
Name."
- Enter the desired Course
or Instructor name and click the "Search" button.
- Choose the appropriate
course or section if needed.
- Electronic Reserve readings
are found under the title, "Electronic Reserves." Click
on this link.
- Click on the link, "See
list of electronic reserves for this course."
- Click on the title of
the item you wish to view.
- If requested to enter
a password, type in the password provided by your professor.
- Upon clicking on a title,
your web browser will launch Adobe Acrobat Reader*. (If asked to
Open the file or Save it to disk, select Open.)

Adobe Acrobat Reader - A "Helper Application" Needed to
View Electronic Reserves
Most electronic reserves
are formatted as Portable Document Format (PDF) files. To view PDF
files, you need a helper application, Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe
Acrobat Reader is included on the MUnet CD. The software can also
be downloaded for free from Adobe's
website. The Computer Services Help Desk can assist you if you
have problems. Call 785-3279 or search the MU
Knowldge Base for a solution.
