Criteria for Admission to The Miami Hamilton Honors Program
Students with at least 15 credit hours (graded course work) and a GPA of 3.5 or higher are automatically admitted upon enrollment.
First semester students are invited to join the Program based on high school GPA, test scores, and additional variables, including demonstrated leadership, extra and co-curricular involvement, first-generation college student status, letters of recommendation, life experiences, obstacles overcome, quality of high school, socio-economic status, special abilities, talents and achievements, strength of high school curriculum, strong commitment to social service, and writing ability.
The Hamilton Honors Program believes that the diversity of the student body enhances the quality of education our students receive. Diversity may include breadth of life experiences, geography, ideology, lifestyle, race/ethnicity, socio-economic status, or worldview.
