“Dick Fitton loved and respected the land. My fondest
memories of Dick are from the times when we traveled around his farm,
a part of which he ultimately donated to become the Forest Run Wildlife
Preserve, and listening to his recollections of farming that land and
sharing in his enthusiasm and joy as we planned how the land would be
preserved as a park. He was a man of vision who understood that setting
aside open spaces and wild places for the good of our community was a
true measure of our civility.”
