"Mr. Dick Fitton will always be remembered with a fond smile by all his friends at the Kentucky Horse Park.

His frequent visits to the Foundation Office and the Breeds Barn were a delight to everyone who knew him. Whether he came for a special event like the Rolex, an exhibit at the Museum, to see ‘Nicky’ in the Parade of Breeds, or simply to share lunch at Sam’s, he always brought a special brightness to our day.

We will miss his wit, his kindness, his insights and his high regard for horses and people. Yet, he remains an inspiration to us and will always be treasured as one of the Park’s most loyal and generous friends.

We are working on a plan to honor Dick’s memory and to recognize his fondness and support for the Park. A tree has been planted in his memory in addition to a memorial bench along the Park’s walk."
