The 10 Things Every New Student Should Know...

 

1.

Financial Aid & Scholarships.It is strongly recommended that every new student should fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) because it is the first step to scholarships, grants and loans. (Available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov)

2.

Academic Advising maintains a Blackboard site for common questions and resources.  Look for the link at the top of your MyMiami page.

 

3.

Check out the Miami Hamilton Bookstore located in Schwarm Hall to see what texts will be used in your classes. Get your books early to save money by buying used books.

 

4.

Check your email* regularly and be on the lookout for your eBill.  Miami University does not mail a paper bill to your home address.

*To check your email, login to MyMiami and click the"muConnect email (OWA)" link in the top, left corner. Log in again using your UniqueID and password.

5.

Sign-up for the e2Campus Emergency text alert service.

 

6.

Get your Miami University Student ID one week after registering for classes in the Business Services Office in Mosler Hall.

 

7.

Check out the Learning Assistance website for free study skills workshops and information on tutoring.

 

8.

Miami Hamilton is fortunate to have great FREE parking. Complete your parking form and return it to Business Services.

 

9.

Miami Hamilton has great Student Activities  and student clubs or organizations. Stop by Schwarm Hall to get involved! Also, don't forget to check out the Web Event calendar for information about a variety of events and activities on campus and the Miami Hamilton Downtown center.

 

10.
