Men's Basketball Coaching Staff

Dwayne Terry

Hometown: Middletown, OH

Position: Head Coach
Birthdate: 10/20/1965
Experience: 9 Years
Alma Mater: New Miami High School
Graduated: June 1984

Dwayne Terry is the current Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball Team for the Miami University Hamilton Harriers.  Coach Terry is entering his 2nd season leading the Harriers.  Coach Terry hopes to bring winning basketball to MUH and assure that his players get a quality education and graduate from college.

Coach Terry was the New Miami Girl’s Head Basketball coach for 6 years. During his career at New Miami, he led the girls to their first MVC Championship in 24 years.  In his last 3 years at New Miami High School, he led the girls to 33 wins and was voted MVC Coach of the Year for the 2008-2009 basketball season.  He was the Assistant Basketball Coach at Middletown Christian High School in 2009-2010 season.  Coach Terry was a volunteer Men’s Assistant Basketball coach at Miami University Hamilton campus during the 2001-2002 season and was the paid Men’s Basketball Assistant for the 2002-2003 season.

Dwayne Terry attended Ohio University from 1984 to 1986.  He was a member of the O.U. Football Team.  Coach Terry is also a veteran of the United States Army; his years of service ran from 1986 through 1990.

He received an Associate’s Degree in Industrial Technology at Sinclair Community College.  He is currently employed as a Shift Supervisor at the Butler County Juvenile Rehabilitation Center.  He also works as a Trainer at the Atrium YMCA in Middletown.

Dwayne has been married for 14 years to Jill and is a father of two daughters, Brittany and Jayla Terry.  He is also the proud grandfather of Myles Terry, age 4. 


Travis York

Hometown:  Louisa, KY                                     
Position:  Assistant Coach/Director of Scouting/Recruiting Coordinator
Experience:  5 years, 2nd Season at MUH
Alma Mater:  Lawrence County High School/Lee University

Graduated:  1999/2003

Travis York is entering his second season as Assistant Coach of the Men’s Basketball Team for the Miami University Hamilton Harriers. He hopes to assist student athletes to be successful in the classroom and on the court. He is focused on developing players into successful students, citizens, and basketball players while winning basketball games.

Coach York was an assistant under Coach Dwayne Terry for three seasons at New Miami High School.  While at New Miami he helped Coach Terry lead the Vikings to their first MVC Championship in 24 years.

Coach York is from Louisa, KY.  He graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1999 and Lee University in 2003. He currently teaches social studies at Hamilton High School.

Coach York currently resides in Hamilton, Ohio with his loving wife April, 4 year old daughter Laynie, and 2 year old son Bryson.
