  • Office of Residence Life and New Student Programs (they hire assistants to work in the residence halls as well as people to work in the commuter center and as student secretaries) 529-4000.

  • Office of Housing, Dining and Guest Services (they hire students to work in the areas of food service, conferences, maintenance and grounds work, etc.) 529-3721

Busing to Oxford from Hamilton
This service is provided for free with your student ID. The bus runs Monday through Friday and picks up in Hamilton in front of the Wilks Conference Center (in the student parking lot). You can pick up a schedule of pick-up and drop off times and locations in the Student Services office in Hamilton (130 Rentschler) or from the Shriver Center Information Desk in Oxford (main floor of Shriver).

Parking in Oxford
You will need a parking pass to park on the Oxford campus. If you are taking the majority of your credit hours in Oxford you will need to purchase a pass from their Parking Services Office. Cars parked illegally or without the proper tags will be ticketed or towed. When you purchase your pass you will receive a map of where you can legally park. There is metered parking available off-campus, but parking is limited.

Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction options in Oxford
Tutoring is available for a large number of Oxford courses. You will pay about $23 to meet with a private tutor five times, or $13 to attend group tutoring, both of which will be billed to your student account. If you are not financially able to cover the cost of tutoring please inform the Learning Center of that when you make your appointment. Call 529-8760 to make an appointment with a tutor. Supplemental Instruction is also available for a number of courses. Your instructors will give you some of this information, you can also check with the Learning Assistance Center.

Health Services
As someone paying the student services fee you are entitled to health care from Health Services in Oxford. If you fall ill while you are on campus, sustain a minor injury or need to have medication administered you should contact the health center. Student Counseling Services
Licensed counselors are available for full-time students by appointment or in emergency situations. Career Counseling and testing is also available.

Commuter Center
This is your home away from home! Lockers are available for use as well as study tables, computers, a kitchen area and a lounge with large screen television to enjoy during your breaks. Take advantage of the many programs that they offer.

Rec Center (gym)
If you are paying the student activity fee for Oxford (meaning you are taking more hours in Oxford than you are on the regional campuses) then your student ID will give you access to the Rec Center. If you are not paying the Oxford fee but would like access to the Rec, then you can purchase a Community Affiliate pass. The rec includes locker rooms, a pool and hot tub, indoor track and many other amenities.

Business Offices
Most of the Business offices that you will need to interact with as a student are located on the main floor of the Campus Avenue Building, known as the CAB. It is located on the corner of Spring and Campus Avenue.

Academic Advising
All relocating students new to the Oxford campus will need to meet with their divisional adviser before they can register for classes. After that time it is always highly recommended to continue to meet with your departmental and or divisional advisers.

Meal Plans
There are various meal plans available for students who live on campus, live nearby off campus or commute. You can contact the Housing, Dining and Guest Service Office for purchasing information. They are a variety of places to eat on campus. 529-5000. http://www.hdg.muohio.edu/

Housing on and off campus
All freshmen (students who have earned under 30 credit hours) are required to live in on-campus housing unless they are commuting from the home of their guardian or parent. Plenty of on-campus options are also available for upper-class students including single and double rooms and suite style living. Call 529-5000 for more information or visit their website. You will want to apply for housing early and you can request a roommate. You can even fill out your housing contract online!

Off campus housing is available throughout the Oxford area in the form of renting houses or leasing apartments. Many leases will require a 12-month commitment.

Child Care
